The Programme is based out of the sprawling green campus of the Sri Aurobindo Centre for Arts and Communication (SACAC). Located in the heart of South Delhi, the campus is a green oasis, which provides a serene and evocative environment for learning and intellectual growth.

The SACAC campus boasts of, among other things:

Spacious classrooms, equipped with state-of the audio-visual equipment.
An auditorium and amphitheatre with large seating capacity.
An editing studio with post-production suites featuring high-end Mac platform editing machines.
A television studio, an audio studio, and a photography studio.
Spacious and well-stocked library and resource centre.
Ample space that students can utilize for practicals, discussions and rehearsals.
Multimedia centre with internet access.
A canteen that serves healthy and nutritious food, with a student’s budget in mind.

In addition, each student in the programme will receive a compulsory laptop for their use on campus, at home, and in their internship.

Institute History

The School of Convergence (SoC) was started on October 2001 by Kaleidoscope Entertainment, headed by Bobby Bedi. The school started with a Two Year Post Graduate Diploma Course in Content Creation and Management (PGDCCM) combining print, radio, television, cinema and the Internet. This unique flagship course is much wanted after as it offers incredible understanding and skills in all streams of media and management. It combines the curricula of a journalism school, a film school and a management school. The Media School licensed its brand to 9.9 Mediaworx Pvt. Ltd. to start journalism courses as 9.9 School of Convergence and it starting its first batch in September 2009 with just one course, an eleven-month diploma in Applied Journalism.

Placement

There’s more to Career Services at SoC than simply finding a full-time job at the end of the course. We work with our students right from the beginning to help them understand their strengths and weaknesses; the demands of a particular medium; lifestyle choices forced by certain media jobs, etc. so that they can make the most suitable choice when the time comes.

Beyond helping students find media related internships, we provide mentors who advise students on their preferred career options and assist students in finding a job once they finish the Diploma. We also help in crafting resumes and cover letters, and in developing job search and interview strategies.

Our Career Services Office is headed by Gunjan Aggarwal, who has earlier handled business development for the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad. Gunjan is well-acquainted with the process of opening up new employers for participation in the placement program, and has been credited with placing 200 MBA students from the batch of 2006 at ISB.

It is our endeavour to hold as many employer interactions as possible during the course to make sure that our students get information on the companies they wish to work with. At the end of the year, we will invite relevant companies for on-campus interview sessions with our students. We are also in touch with our alumni on a regular basis to ensure access to information on current openings in their places of work.
