Computer Centre

The Centre for Information Technology (CIT) is the nerve centre of AIM. Through CIT, AIM is linked to the rest of the world wring its Leased Line link on 24 x 7 basis for CIT & serous - net-based research projects and data mining.

AIM CIT’s state-of-the-art Computer Center has 356 high performance Pentium nodes (C2D) connected to Six high- speed servers in a LAN (Domain) environment. Further, opportunity to develop expertise on the AS/400 system , being widely used by Fortune 500 companies, also exists. NAS Storage, Firewall, Network Printer and Scanners are integrated in LAN to optimize utilization of the resources.

The Center is equipped with Windows 2003 Domain , compilers for languages like C, C + +, Relational Data Base Management Systems like ORACLE 9i and other packages like MS Office, MsProject, Visual Studio, DotNet, FoxPro, SPSS etc

Students use CIT’s resource to design and develop cross platform applications. From capture of media to production of CBTs and websites, AIM's CIT has ample resources on both platforms for editing and creating content and authorizing multimedia for stand alone computers and delivery via the web. Students work in team to implement network design, solve network related problems and learn the fundamentals of operating an installation of networked computers.

An Amphitheater, which can seat up to 500 persons, is a recent addition. Separate common rooms let the boys & girls unwind between classes. The common rooms are outfitted for indoor sports.

In a safe and comfortable living environment, the students learn the joys of sharing academic and personal experiences. Placement

The CCR is the hub of activities which drive the 3–I (Institute – Industry - Interface) initiative. It develops and maintains a close relationship with corporates through guest lectures, corporate get-togethers, industry visits and frequent interaction at both institute and student level.The CCR arranges for the mandatory six-to eight weeks Summer Internship Programme in corporate houses for each student at the end of the first year. The CCR is also responsible for organizing final placement for the graduating students - a continuous process that effectively starts the day a student joins the institute.Students are closely involved in the activities of CCR – which includes publication of place- ment brochures and other literature, interaction with recruiters, working out placement strategies & scheduling activities, maintaining resumé banks, etc. The exposure to this complex process helps to develop their Participative Managerial Effectiveness (PME).
