Institute Description

Established in 1995, Eastern Institute for Integrated Learning in Management (EIILM) has created a unique position for itself in the corporate world and is known for its strong legacy of management programs. The Eastern Institute for Integrated Learning in Management (EIILM) is highly focused source of professional education for building careers in management. It represents an effective and significant investment in human potential development in India in the evolving context of the world. A specialized centre for professional education, the institute has been offering two years full time program in management.The Institute started offering PGDBM program under Visva Bharati, a Central University since 1999. EIILM got the status of a 'Constituents College of Visva Bharati.

EIILM has established its credibility as the provider of quality education in the field of management, in India and abroad. It has a strong team of competent faculty, which is drawn from both the academia & the industry. The faculty division is an excellent mix of doctorates and people with more than a decade of the corporate experience. The faculty members have published numerous books; have contributed articles in accredited national as well as international journals.

An Institute of Management or an Institute offering management program is known by the quality and percentage of placement of students. EIILM has been fortunate in making a mark in the corporate world through strong patronization by the national and international companies based in different metropolis in India and other countries. We have achieved a record of 100% placement for the PGPM students. National and Multinational companies are participating and taking interest in the campus placement. Overseas Summer Projects for the students are also organized.

The mission of EIILM is to contribute to corporate, industrial, entrepreneurial, economic, social, intellectual and cultural development of the country through the pursuit of excellence in teaching. Library
The EIILM library with its modern and updated collection of knowledge resources and innovative information services is an integral part of the lives of students, faculty and the research persons. The library has no boundaries and encourages resource sharing.

The objective of the EIILM Library is to impart knowledge.

The library is well equipped consisting of the latest books, journals and magazines. The resources of the library are predominantly related to management and allied subjects. But this does not rule out its even share of books on general topics of interest.

The library has over 10,000 printed documents and it subscribes to 27 national journals and 5 international journals. The library houses books selectively chosen for reading and reference. The collection includes resources relevant to teaching, learning, training, research and consultancy needs of the institute. About 35 printed, national and international periodicals are subscribed so that the participants keep themselves updated with the trends in the global market place. The strength of the library are the publications by leading publishing houses like Palgrave, Oxford, Blackwell, McGraw Hill etc. and regular addition of current and latest editions.

The library functions on a comfortable annual budget and has over the past years evolved into an excellent B-school library. The library of the institute aims to be a leading research library in the fields of management, economics and psychology. It aims to build a comprehensive collection of back volumes of journals of these fields.

The library is heading towards complete computerization and automation of all its operations through LIBSYS. Membership with DELNET is also in the pipeline to develop the information base, so that updated resource material is also available to its users.

Computer Lab

The Institute has a substantial programme of investment in computing facilities in order to ensure that all students have means to access information systems. Around one hundred computers connected with Broadband Internet connectivity are accessible in the Institute Premises. Computer services are available on all working days. Software includes Word processors, Spreadsheets, Database Packages, Web – browsers and a wide range of course – related programs.

Language Lab

EIILM also offers foreign language classes to its students which will enable them to be placed abroad and also to improve communication skills.

Cafeteria

The Cafeteria provides delicious food for lunch and snacks for the students at a subsidized rate. Strict hygienic condition is maintained while cooking.

Common-Room

Common Room is the place where the students can take a little bit of rest in their busy schedule. Caroms, Table Tennis are few of the Indoor Games facility present. A Color Television set connected with Local Cable Network is the source of entertainment and helps the students getting updated about Cricket Score, Current Events etc.

Hostel

EIILM provides hostel facilities to the students with a quality life style which equally provides home comforts. One may go for single/double/triple to quadruple sharing occupancy that suit student needs and budget. Separate accommodation is provided for boys and girls.

Placement

EIILM puts placements of the students at the forefront of its all activities. The Placement Committee responsible for inviting companies for placement always remain in touch with them to know more about their recruitment process, in order to guide the students to their preferred jobs in their area of specialty. The Placement Committee also offers personalized counseling communication training, resume building, and mock interviews to inculcate skills that help students bag the best jobs in the market. EIILM also arranges for best internship facilities for its students.

Placement Committee & Procedure

Placement Committee at EIILM consists of Director, Dean – Academic, Chairman – Placement, HOD – Placement & Corporate Relations, Manager – Placement & Corporate Relations and Student Representatives – three from each batch. Students elect their representatives. Placement Committee keeps in constant touch with the alumni of the Institute to promote placement activities.

Placement Committee plans and formulates strategies for the placement activities. It provides necessary support and guidance to the students for strengthening placement activities and conducts reviews periodically.

It serves as a liaison with the corporate world maintaining a strong relationship with the industry.

Placement Procedure

After the initial selections, pre-placement discussions are arranged between the students and organization representatives. Interviews may be taken on campus or through EIILM’s Campus At Your Place (CAYP) programme, by which arrangements are made to send students to a venue of the organization’s choice. Direct recruitment through this system is quality assured and cost efficient.
