Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management is equipped with the most modern state-of-the-art facilities. The SJMSOM building is a modern structure with its classrooms, seminar halls, computer labs, Wi-Fi enabled lobbies and wide open spaces for discussions and events.
Classrooms
The building has air-conditioned classrooms and seminar rooms with a ‘U’ shaped design to facilitate discussions and debates. The specially designed classrooms are equipped with the audio visual aids & internet connectivity to enhance group discussions and learning. The classrooms provide the right environment for the faculty to give the students a hands-on experience and the right ambience for the students to stimulate their learning.
Auditoriums/ Halls
The School has air-conditioned Seminar halls and a 150 seat Auditorium for conducting seminars, MDPs and conferences.
Apart from these the school has access to the three large auditoriums within the campus.
The Convocation hall (Dikshaanth Sabhagruh): The Convocation Hall is used for a variety of purposes like cultural activities (Performing Arts Festival, Mood I, Socials etc), the year end Convocation and weekend movies and live Cricket and Football action.
P C Saxena Lecture Theatre: This air-conditioned hall that can seat 250 people is mostly used for lectures, seminars and conferences. It has been graced by such luminaries as Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam, Mr. Richard Stallman, Mr. Rajat Gupta etc.
KReSIT Auditorium: This spacious auditorium which is part of the neighboring Kanwal Rekhi School of Information Technology (KReSIT) is another of the institute’s many auditoriums.
Library
Knowledge resources are the key for the growth of any educational institution. Shailesh J Mehta School of Management, with its commitment to learning, provides the students with a fully equipped library consisting of books and journals on a variety of management topics. There are also facilities like catalogue search and issue status.
The School has continued to add to its collection, which now stands more than 6638 books; and 337 Audio Visual Material (CDs and Audio cassettes), 514 Thesis & Dissertation, 55 MDP reports.
In addition to the School library, the Institute Central Library (http://www.library.iitb.ac.in) also has over 5000 book titles in the management area, and subscribes to around 38 journals in various areas of relevance to the School. In addition to print subscriptions, the Institute subscribes to a number of full-text electronic journals, through leading sources such as Elsevier Science Direct, Emerald and ProQuests ABI / INFORM, EBSCO, Euro monitor.

Besides books and journals, School faculty and students have access to a number of data and information sources that are very useful in teaching and research. These include, the Prowess, Business Beacon database from the Centre for Monitoring the Indian Economy (CMIE), which is considered the standard for Indian macroeconomic and industry data, and Capital Line, which provides detailed market and financial information and also the CII Directory which provides various list of Companies. Other sources to which the School subscribes include Cenca and Capital Stock and Prime database.
Computer Labs
SJMSOM has two computer labs meant for the management program students and a PhD workspace for the research scholars.
The computer labs of SJMSOM are equipped with the latest hardware and software configurations. The labs are open 24 hours and also have two full time system administrators.
The computing infrastructure in the School was further strengthened, with system upgrades as well as some new hardware and software acquisition. With these acquisitions, the School now has around 139 PCs for general student use, individual PC’s for faculty and research scholars, 4 mail, web and file servers, 1 Laptop, 30+ printers, 1 Copier Printer, 7 LCD projectors and a range of industry-standard application software that includes: simulation software (Arena), statistical software (SAS), SPSS 11. In addition, the School has access to centralized computing resources of the Institute, which are amongst the best in the country. All computers are networked through a switched 100 Mbps Ethernet LAN, which is connected to the Institute’s Gigabit Ethernet backbone. The School has alliance with Microsoft, which has provided all soft wares through this alliance programme.

PhD students have dedicated work cubicles. All computers are connected to the campus Gigabit Ethernet backbone. In addition there is a wireless Ethernet network throughout the School building and classrooms, enabling students to access the network from all locations. Students & faculty in the School have access to a range of business applications like SAS, SPSS, Lisrel, Visio, Visible Analyst, MS Project, ARENA – OPTQUEST, Office productivity applications like MS Office one note, Microsoft Works etc. which run on Operating systems like Windows -(Windows 2000 Professional, Windows XP, Windows 2003 Server), Linux – (ES, Redhat linux, Fedora, Suse). Databases like MS SQL Server, MySQL Server, Access are also available. The Institute has dedicated high-speed Internet access, and all students are provided with e-mail accounts. The School also runs an Internet/Intranet web server.
