The school is fully aware that its graduates will occupy positions of great responsibility in the organizations where they will work after their graduation. And these organizations provide useful service to society. The graduates thus need to be well trained in both the theory and the practice of management to discharge their stewardship responsibilities well. This is guaranteed through the following means:
Faculty: VITBS today has a strong team of dedicated and committed faculty members in various areas of management (http://www.vit.ac.in/vitbs/facultyteams.asp), and also draws on the faculty members of the School of Social Sciences in areas such as Economics, Accounting and Languages.
Around one third of Faculty members are doctorates, and many others are pursuing their doctorates. Quite many of the faculty members have received their education from premier institutes of management such as the IIMA, XLRI, JBIMS, etc. and have rich practical experience in management and in teaching.
The faculty avails of continuous training in their subjects, in the methods to ensure learning, in research skills, and is strongly encouraged to engage with industry.
Education System: The VITBS education system is built drawing on the best practices of the best institutions of the world.
The curriculum and syllabi are designed by a Board of Studies that includes faculty members from the IIMs and IITs, and people with rich experience in Industry who have a deep involvement with quality education.
The VIT FFCS system was pilot tested and pioneered by the VITBS. It provides the student with the flexibility not only to choose the subjects, but also the pace of learning and time-table.
The student gets ample exposure to practice through cases, course projects, industry internships, and tours abroad. Cases are developed by the faculty through a system of encouragement of active engagement with industry.
The student gets focused soft-skills training to enable their true inner qualities to shine through.
The MBA and MBA in International Business are fully residential programs. This fosters close interaction between the faculty and the students and among the students. This also enables the students to immerse themselves in team learning, an essential ingredient in the forming of a manager.
The programs feature visiting experts from industry, and are peppered with guest speakers.
