Institute Description

Xavier Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship, Bangalore, was established in May 1991 to meet a universally felt need for an institution offering high quality management education and entrepreneurship development on a strong ethical foundation. Public systems and NGO activity have been other areas with which XIME has actively engaged itself through its mission of service to education. The institute’s flag ship programme is the two year PGDM programme which is equivalent to MBA.

In India XIME occupies a special niche as an institution where admission of students is not linked with donations of any kind, formal or informal reservations or quotas. Merit is the sole criterion for admission to our courses. The diversity of the institute’s student body is one of the best, with all parts of the country represented and women students forming 45-50 percent of every batch.

XIME’s attractive and fully residential campus is located at the heart of the Electronics City of Bangalore – in the neighbourhood of Infosys, TCS, Mahindra Satyam, HP, Wipro and Siemens which connect the city with the wide world. It is indeed a new economy school!

The Chairman of the Board of Governors of XIME is Mr. Sarosh J. Ghandy, former Managing Director, Telcon Ltd. of the TATA Group and Former Chairman of XLRI, Jamshedpur.

Campus:
XIME is located in Electronics City, which is the centre of Bangalore's IT industry. It has an infrastructure that is most conducive to management learning. Its campus is a large expanse spread over more than four acres and houses various support facilities.

The campus facilities include 14 classrooms with seating capacities ranging from 40 to 150, an executive conference hall and an auditorium with a seating capacity of 300.

The entire campus (including Hostel) is WiFi enabled. Computer lab has 120 computers and all the students have Laptops. All the class rooms have audio visual facility. In addition, the campus also has its own video conferencing facility.

The basketball, volley ball, badminton, tennis and table tennis courts are the scenes of much activity every evening at XIME. There are matches and trophies instituted by the college to promote a competitive but wholesome environment.

Canteen & Gym:
For the students to relax and to make best use of leisure are the canteen and students' lounge and gym. Endowed with a hygienic kitchen and full-time residential cooks, the canteen is also a place where students can catch up with the television fare. The Students' lounge is a place for fun, with indoor games like carom, chess and table tennis .

Hotel:
The Ladies Hostel, 'Teresa Hall', is located right behind the main campus. The Men’s hostel is located in the institute's extension campus. These hostels can accommodate about 125 Women and 150 Men. The rooms are spacious and well-lit. Each student is provided with a bed, cupboards, desks, bookshelves and all other basic amenities including solar heated hot water for bathing and cold drinking water.

Library:
Sir Dorabji Tata Trust donated XIME Library. It’s one of the most active centres in the campus.
