The program consists of two-year course work followed by completion of a thesis.
The course work is of two years duration. Most of the first-year course work is of the PGDM program, providing a good grounding in the basic disciplines and functional areas of management. In addition, specific doctoral level courses are offered.
In the second year, students have to attend advanced courses in the chosen area of specialization. Courses offered include:
- Economics
- Quantitative Methods
- Accounting
- Financial Markets
- Asset Pricing
- Corporate Finance
- Empirical Methods and Modeling.
From the third year onwards, students who have successfully completed the course work have to undertake research in their chosen fields of specialization. Students are expected to make original contributions in their area of specialization.
Students have to also assist faculty in research and teaching.
Students are expected to complete their thesis work within two to three years after the completion of the course work.
